What We Do
Strategy
Tall Poppy raises the money needed to make big things happen. We oversee all the other parts too: the budgeting, the messaging, and bringing together a team.
Our clients frequently earn headlines in the media and turn heads based on their strong campaign launches and fundraising. We use that attention and momentum to build relationships with people and organizations that can amplify their work. This is why our clients see their political and social capital grow as they put money in the bank.
Fundraising
Our bread and butter. Digital and traditional. Without fundraising, nothing else happens.
We are masters of call time. We use a combination of traditional fundraising methods, including events and digital strategies, to help clients exceed their goals and outraise well-resourced opponents.
Relationship Building
We help clients build relationships that increase their political and social capital.
We are hands-on in our approach: we schedule, prepare, and staff clients as needed to ensure that the goal of every stakeholder meeting is met. From donors to community members to union leaders, helping clients build and maintain relationships with organizations and across communities is essential to the work we do.
Media
We are aggressive in our approach to gaining press coverage for our clients. We help clients build relationships with journalists to shape narratives. We drive messaging in the press and on social media to gain traction.
We oversee paid media with advertising budgets ranging from $100,000 to over $1M. We know how to bring a team together to produce commercials in a short amount of time to ensure our clients have the ad spots they need when they need them.
We are also well trained in rapid-response communications in traditional and digital media to combat negative commentary, and in response to crisis and current events.

Who We Are
Eden McKissick-Hawley
Co-Founder & Executive Director (she/her)
Eden McKissick-Hawley spearheads Tall Poppy. She has been leading teams across the country to elect Democrats since 2016, bringing nearly a decade of well-rounded professional experience to the table for her clients. The majority of her career has been focused on managing and leading finance operations on red-to-blue races and competitive primaries in states like Texas, Illinois, Georgia, Ohio, and Oregon.
Eden launched Congresswoman Lauren Underwood's finance program on her successful congressional campaign when she flipped a red-to-blue seat outside of Chicago. She was the Finance Director for red-to-blue congressional candidate Betsy Dirksen-Londrigan, getting her through a competitive 5-way primary in downstate Illinois, as well as for Kim Olson’s congressional campaign in Texas. Eden also served as Regional Finance Director for Central Ohio for Rich Cordray’s gubernatorial campaign.
In 2021, Eden and her business partner Megan started Tall Poppy to continue the work of leading campaigns, but at a larger scale. By 2022, Tall Poppy had already seen huge success, winning competitive primary and general election races in Georgia, electing Democrats Saira Draper and Lisa Campbell to the State Legislature. That cycle, Tall Poppy led the finance team responsible for delivering a historic primary victory for Jamie McLeod-Skinner, who unseated Rep. Kurt Schrader in Oregon’s 5th Congressional District. This race is considered the largest upset in Oregon since 1994.
In recent years, Eden is finding a rhythm in movement-based work and localized races. She is a Virgo living in Columbus, Ohio with her dog Henry, who is a Cancer.
Megan Nien-Yun Clark
Co-Founder and Senior Vice President, Director of Digital Strategy (she/her)
Megan Nien-Yun Clark leads Digital Strategy at Tall Poppy. She holds a Masters in digital communications and has an extensive background in public relations in the private sector. Megan worked as a teacher in low-income public schools and saw discrepancies in learning resources, failed policies, and socioeconomic injustice that ultimately pushed her into the political arena. When Megan entered the political space professionally, she jumped right into the world of digital fundraising to make a big impact creating profitable and sustainable fundraising programs for people and organizations.
The issues Megan cares about most include early education, animal rescue efforts, mental health programs, LGBTQ+ rights, and racial justice. She has developed a portfolio of working with big-picture organizations that focus on things like electing moms and tackling climate change. From local to statewide campaigns, Megan has built digital programs for members of Congress like Carolyn Maloney of New York to state-wide elected officials like New Mexico Secretary of State Mary Toulouse Oliver, and Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum.
She is Miami-based where she can be found with her dog Butters who is spoiled rotten.
